Welcome to Our Options for School Kids
All-Weather Outdoor Self Directed Education + Community
We are Washington State's only outdoor Self-Directed Education Center
All-Weather Outdoor Self Directed Education + Community
Picture this: Instead of your child spending those precious after-school hours indoors with screens or structured activities, they're building forts, developing lifelong social skills, and following their curiosity in Washington's only off-grid learning environment.
If you're looking for an active, screen-free, out-in-nature experience --
-- a place where your kids can let off steam --
-- a place where they can be loud and messy --
-- a place where they can make new friends --
-- come check us out.
The Spokane Learning Co-op offers all-weather outdoor adventure play, community building, and real life skills to kids of all ages. It's a place where kids truly thrive, which is why we've created options so that even kids who attend school full time can still participate in this life-changing learning experience.
Give yourself a chance to experience how a few hours outside improves your child's mental health. This is exactly what we offer families all over Spokane.
We're launching our After School Program — and spots will fill fast.
Here's what makes this different from every other after-school option:
100% outdoors, year-round (yes, even in winter!)
Screen-free environment where kids actually talk to each other
Mixed-age community where your 6-year-old learns alongside 12-year-olds
Self-directed exploration instead of adult-led programming
$80/month (less than most indoor programs!)
Your child will come home dirty, tired, and buzzing with stories about what they discovered, built, or figured out that day.
But here's the thing: We can only move forward when we have enough families committed. The waiting list is already growing, and we'll launch as soon as we hit our minimum.
Don't wait — outdoor after-school programs like this simply don't exist anywhere else.
Some of our families pull their kids from school a little early once a week, or every other week, so that they can be a part of one of our Homeschool groups.
Kids can take Mental Health Days off from school. Your child is welcome to come decompress and be a kid at the Co-op.
